It is time, my children, for my;
Favourite Books of 2016
I didn't read a lot this year, let's be honest.
I spent a lot of my time this year writing, and watching Kdramas instead lol.
Maybe the fact that I was so sad that most of the books I read this year were the last book of their respective series.
So I'm like;
Like always, I'll put it's Goodreads link, so you all can just click the title for more info on the book.
Also, warning, warning, this post consists a lot of manglish and swear words.

This is the first book I read in 2016 and it's such an eye opening and thought provoking book.
A beautiful moving story about a boy who have everything and then he met these people (Somali Refugees) who just striving to live.
Considering the fact that the world today, we can see the refugee crisis everywhere, this book is very important part of literature for us to indulge and understand on what does these people, the people who fleed their country for their safety face in everyday life in a foreign place.
Even though this book the target audience is Young Adult, I hope more adults, parents especially would read it to their children and talk about it.
It is that important of a book.

HOOOOOLLYYYY COOOW
Let me tell you.
I thought this book was a fun read on relationship but I was kidding myself.
It actually tells on self acceptance, sexuality and the acceptance on the people around you.
Ok, buku ni serious best sumpah I cannot, aku tak sangka aku boleh enjoy it more than I thought I would.
The dialog, the PLOST TWIST: AMAZING.
And also, Shah handsome okay that's all.

wooooo more Nadia Khan's books.
I thought buku ni pasal the teenage boys' friendship and those crazy, dangerous, teenage things yang diorang buat.
The story was amazing. We have LGBTQ+ representations! We have passionate art lovers :D and we have the horrors and mysteries expect to it (which made the reading experience exciting)
Aku NANGIS DOH AT THE END. As a person whose really appreciate male friendships (I believe their friendships are strong even when they did really questionable stuff) It just HIT me through my heart. The book covers a lot on friendships and the lives we live when our friends beside us and it's memorable.
CAN WAIT FOR THE MOVIE YASSS

First Book: An Ember in The Ashes
WALLAHI, YA TUHAN.
I stumbled upon so many rollercoaster of emotions: worrying, disgust, anger, sadness, BETRAYED, and heartbreaks throughout reading this book.
I took a lot of time to digest that ONE particular plot twist. I saw it coming but I was so wary of it like I don't want to believe it you know. I was so freaking sad and numb as hell. My hopes and dreams were shattered because of it.
Nevertheless, I'm liking where this series is going.
I love Keenan but HELENE gurlllll, she's starting to be my favourite character in here.
Ni pun sorang, BAGI JELAH BUKU KE-3 SEKARANG.

First Book: The Wrath and The Dawn
I'm always a sucker for 1001 nights retailings. I LOVE this version especially. I really appreciate all the Arabic references, clothes, food and Islamic references in it.
Khalid, (my smol child). I'm not a fan of a cool, calm and mysterious character in books in general (I always like the funny, spunky, reckless ones) yet KHALID. I WOULD MARRY KHALID IN A HEARTBEAT. He's just very respectful towards Shahrzad and he's such, SUCH a great king. And the fact the he suffered a lot and still manage to calm down... I would DIE.

A boy who can hear Jacob Grimm, aka one of the duo who wrote a lot of fairytales, The Grimm Brothers?? Jacob Grimm were told to protect this boy from something bad that will happen to him??
Bro, yes, bro.
ORIGINAL. Simple story of family, friendships and trust.
It was just sO ADDICTING.
It does started kind of slow but boiiiiii you better be prepare for the second half of this book, there's a lot of shenanigans happening and even I wasn't ready.
Magnus Chase: Hammer of Thor

First Book: Sword of Summer
I love my Capricorn, cynical son Magnus Chase.
This book RIGHT HERE IS THE LIVING PROOF that a book can be hilarious and fun and make the reader feel a whole range of emotions while also touching on some really important and relevant topics, like religion, & sexuality.
SAMIRAH AL-ABBAS, queen of kicking ass.
Hearthrone, I can't express how much I love and appreciate him.
Loki, you fucking bITC-

I crIED.
Apollo was so amazing, he was so funny omg. The fact that he's openly bi makes this book 100x better.
On the serious note, the book is dark, and I think it will be darker in the next book.
It run deep after the war between the Seven and Gaea and we basically learn more what acTUALLY happen that actually brought Percy into the world of Camp Half Blood.
I just can't wait for the second book I just cannot wait to read about LEO again. I've missed him so much, he's my favourite character ever, the love of my life, my son, my happ-

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

First Book: The Raven Boys
I just... I feel like... I lost my breath when I was finishing it.
"And then, he began to dream...."
Holy hell.
This last installment is everything I could've dreamed it to be and more. I felt like my heart was cracking throughout this whole experience of reading it.
I laughed, I cried, I mourned.
What more could I ask of Stiefvater, a master storyteller?
She creates these atmospheric, impressionistic scenes with this quiet but impeccable style. It was eerie and dreamy and beautiful and breathtaking all in one.
The fact I waited for these book for four years had me so upset cause it's over.
I’ve talked and ranted so much about these characters that I'm pretty sure a lot of people are annoyed with me since I always screamed; "RONAN LYNCH!!!!!!!!!" everytime like I'm sorry okay I love all the my kids in these book and Ronan is my favourite.

Book One: Six of Crows
I mean really, a book full of badass, genuises ANTI HEROES who's planning the most impossible heist ever wouldn't make you shook??
Crooked Kingdom has all qualities that make it outstanding and unforgettable novel. I just have nothing to complain about. Story was addictive, all main characters grew on me big time, ending was realistic and there was even cameo of my favorite character from Grisha trilogy. (OH MY GOD NIKOLAI I'VE MISSED YOU)
Jasper is my favourite but KAZ FREAKING BREKKER as a character, I put my respect on that boy. He scared me shitless, and got my respect. His development as a character is the most profound one.

First Book Link: Red Rising
Listen. LISTEN.
This freaking book will be dig down in my favourite book of all time.
I'm so upset after two years of loving these trilogy, it's finally over T___T
The hierarchy, space settings and the characters always interested me.
The raw emotion that the main character, Darrow brought throughout his journey as a Red was so heart wrenching and emotional.
The amount of time I cried in these books are too many I lost count and their are not even a sad book, I just CRIED.
Epic finale to an epic trilogy.
